When I think of February, I think of love. How can you not? Romantic love, yes, but also love for others and for yourself. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized that it’s really important to take care of yourself and yes, occasionally to treat yo’self! Gary Chapman, the author of the New York Times bestseller book “The 5 Love Languages”, discusses how everyone has an “emotional tank” inside that is waiting to be filled with love. I’m not advocating for selfishness or overindulgence, but instead for filling up your own “emotional tank” so that you can then in turn go joyfully and thoughtfully fill up other peoples’ lives with kindness and yes, with love.
