There are many reasons why I love Cleveland and am proud to call it my hometown. Cleveland is home to numerous nonprofit organizations trying to make our area and world a better place to live, work and play. Recently, I had the pleasure of attending the 37th Annual Luncheon for Providence House. Providence House is a crisis nursery committed to child abuse prevention and family preservation in the Cleveland area. Learn more here.
Reasons Why I Love Cleveland: Providence House
Every year, this fundraiser helps enable Providence House to help thousands of children in crisis. This luncheon was especially important because it honored and celebrated Sister Hope Greener who founded Providence House. It was also her 90th birthday! I was truly inspired by her selfless life work to improve the lives of helpless babes. It moved me to tears as her friends, pastor and supporters spoke of her love. Sister Hope repeatedly mentioned God’s providence over her life and this organization. We all need to be a bit more like Sister Hope.
This luncheon also demonstrated to me the importance of partnerships and community. The list of organizations present included media, construction, decor, advertising and more! It was so impressive to see the Cleveland area band together to help those in need. During this event, the audience was challenged to raise $90,000…and guess what?! We did it!
Providence House revealed future plans including a brand new awareness campaign. If you’re in the Cleveland area, expect to see billboards, kiosks, social media posts and more about Providence House and the beautiful babies that they have the honor to serve and save.
A special thank you to Twist Creative and Providence House for inviting me to attend this luncheon. It was an honor and gave me another reason why I love Cleveland.
