About two months ago, three of my closest friends from college shocked me and showed up on my doorstep for a girls weekend! I was pleasantly surprised and while I obviously didn’t have an opportunity to plan much, we had a great time exploring my lovely hometown of Cleveland, OH. If you’re interested in planning a girls weekend getaway, I would highly suggest that you consider CLE as your location. Take a look at my below suggestions and start planning your girls weekend getaway to Cleveland!
Cleveland Hopkins International Airport is located only 12 miles away from downtown Cleveland and offers over 150 daily nonstop departures. If you’re on a budget, there are quite a few low-cost airlines that fly in and out of the LAND like Spirit Airlines and Frontier Airlines. If you’re driving, Cleveland is fairly easy to navigate and parking downtown isn’t as expensive as larger cities like Chicago or NYC.
Where to stay:
While staying with your friends is obviously your cheapest bet, if that isn’t available I would recommend the following for your girls weekend getaway to Cleveland:
- The Metropolitan at the 9: The vibe is glitzy and glamorous, plus it’s in a great central location. Book here if you’re ready to partayyyyyyy.
- AirBnBs: If you and your gal pals prefer a homier option, check out the following AirBnBs! They all are in fun areas and accommodate groups. (Option 1, Option 2, Option 3)
- For a full list, check out TripAdvisor’s lodging reviews!
What to do:
…if you gals love wine or beer: Do a DIY brewery tour! Cleveland has a plethora of options in this arena, but a few that I would recommend are Platform, Saucy Brew Works, Great Lakes Brewing Co, Masthead Brewing Co and Collision Bend Brewery. If wine is more your style, there are some great wine bars in the Cleveland area. Check out Rocky River Wine Bar, Humble Wine Bar & the Balcony Bar at the Heinen’s downtown location. If you’re willing to drive a bit (about an hour), head east to explore South River Vineyard, Debonne Vineyards and Ferrante Winery. You could also head west (about an hour) to sip on tastings at Vermilion Valley Vineyards, Paper Moon Vineyards and Quarry Hill Winery.
…if you gals consider yourself foodies: There are so many delicious options in Cleveland! I would recommend Lucky’s café in Tremont for breakfast/brunch, a sampling and tour of the West Side Market for lunch and Momocho in Ohio City for dinner. Click here for Yelp’s best restaurants in Cleveland list.
…if you gals are looking for cute boys: Head to a sporting event or sports bar. The Cavs just started their season, so buy your tickets here! Some other fun spots to watch the game are Tremont Taphouse, the Clevelander and the Corner Alley.
…if you gals need some R & R: Ready to treat yoself? Head to one of the many spas in the Cleveland area for manicures/pedicures, facials, massages and champagne! Some I would recommend include Charles Scott Salons & Spas and Sacred Hour Wellness Spa.
…if you gals want to burn those calories: Love to cycle? Book a bike at Harness Cycle. Prefer to stretch it out? Head to Inner Bliss or do Yoga + Brunch with Alicia. Dancing your thing? The Movement Factory is the place to go! Nature hike? Look no further than the Cleveland Metroparks.
