Have you ever heard of bleisure travel? As defined by CNN, it is “a term used to define professionals who are shunning the all-work-and-no-fun grind of business trips by mixing them with vacation time.” I love this and have been fortunate to turn some of my upcoming business trips into a bit of leisure as well. I am about to head to Asheville, NC for a work conference and have heard so many wonderful things about this city that I really wanted to extend my time there. I recruited my teacher friend Brooke to join me so that we can explore the area for a few days before driving to Nashville together for a bachelorette party for Melanie (our mutual Miami alum). It will be a whirlwind of a trip but I am so excited to reconnect with old friends, explore two new cities and vacation bleisure style!
Since I’m flying and need to pack for multiple different experiences, I will need to take clothing and accessories that serve many different purposes. While I don’t consider myself a fashionable person, I do consider myself an organized one! Below is what’s coming with me to Asheville and Nashville:
- Work Conference: White Blazer // Gray Blazer // Black Pencil Skirt // Gray Capris // Three Shirts // Black Heels // Nude Flats
- Exploring Asheville: Three Workout Shirts // Two Pairs of Athletic Shorts // Tennis Shoes // Jeans // Sundress // Light sweater
- Bacheloretting in Nashville: Jean Shorts // Two Tank Tops // Skinny Black Jeans // Pink Heels // Little Black Dress // Sandals
Friday Evening – LBD per the bride’s orders 😉 I may sneak my favorite gold wedges in my carry-on!
Saturday throughout the day – Just in case anyone wonders why a group of 10+ girls are wandering the streets of Nashville…
Saturday evening – I can’t wait to wear this pretty floral off-the-shoulder shirt!
Question for you: Are you planning to take a bleisure trip this year? If yes, where are you going and do you have any packing tips?
