When I was in high school (& if I’m honest even when I was in college), I thought by the time I was 28 years old I would be married, perhaps have a baby, definitely be working at my dream job, and have traveled immensely. Fast forward a few years and enter the real world of college loans, bills, no summer breaks and online dating. As I gulp down a heavy dose of a reality check, I am realizing that I am now in my late twenties and none of those daydreams have come to fruition.
Being an adult is HARD. (Can I get an amen?) The real world will cause you to look back and laugh at those childish wishes and break your heart a little. Life doesn’t always go the way you want it to. Insert social media, and the phrase “Comparison is the thief of joy” has never rang truer for me. How about you? I have a sneaky feeling that there are many other 20-30 something ladies in my same place, so I decided to start a new blog series this month called “Adulting 101”. Weekly posts will cover topics such as dating, friendship, goal-setting, chasing your dreams, money, travel and more! If you missed the announcement, weekly giveaways will accompany these posts…hooray!
My dream behind this series is to help you navigate through the ups and downs of being a adult by sharing lessons I’ve learned, demystify the lies than many of us fall into the trap of believing, and perhaps provide you with some (good) advice, I daresay wisdom, for your future.
First up? Love, of course. (And dating, relationships and friendship.) Talk to you on Monday!
